Configure a Delivery Service

You can configure a delivery service to offer delivery options to customers and calculate the delivery costs based on based on their delivery address, order value, and the products in their basket.

Prerequisites

  • Service products are configured. CloudSuite uses these to represent the delivery cost line on the order.

Create a Delivery Service

  1. In the CloudSuite App, go to Order Management > Configuration > Delivery Services.
  2. Click New, or open an existing delivery service.
  3. In the Name field, enter an internal name for the delivery service.
  4. In the Base Calculation field, select how CloudSuite calculates the cost for this delivery service.
    1. Amount: CloudSuite bases the calculation on the order amount.
    2. Quantity: CloudSuite bases the calculation on the quantity of a specific product in the order. You can only use this option for a delivery service configured on products.
  5. In the Priority field, select the priority level for this delivery service, from Low to Action. When a basket contains products linked to different delivery services, CloudSuite uses the delivery service with the highest priority for the entire order.
  6. To restrict this delivery service to the countries allowed for the shop, check Configured Countries. CloudSuite then uses the countries listed under Allowed Countries on the shop's Shop Access tab.
  7. Click Save.

Add a Delivery Service Line

  1. Click the New icon in the top right of the Lines field.
  2. In the Name field, enter the text customers see in the basket for this delivery cost, for example Standard shipping.
  3. Optionally, in the Extra Description field, enter text to show alongside the product description in the webshop.
  4. In the Product field, select the service product for this delivery cost line.
  5. Under Locations, enter the Continent, Country, Subdivision, or Postal Code From: and Postal Code To: range this line applies to, based on the customer's delivery address.
  6. Under Amounts, you can enter a Minimum Value and Maximum Value, for the order amount or quantity range for this line, depending on the shop's Base Calculation setting.
Note: Set the minimum to 0.01 rather than 0.00, so delivery costs do not show on an empty basket.
  7. Under Settings, optionally in the Special Type field, select a different workflow for the order, such as Pick-up at one of your physical stores, Transfer the order to a linked wholesaler that becomes responsible for delivery and payment, or Deliver the order to a dropshipment address.
  8. Optionally select a Carrier for this line.
  9. Optionally, in the Delivery Schedule field, select a schedule to overrule the shop's own delivery schedule for this line.
  10. Optionally, select a Delivery options Group to activate this line for a group of locations. Check Catch all for Group to use this line as the default for the group.
  11. In the Free Shipping field, select No, regardless of campaigns, Yes, or Yes in basket, but will be calculated afterwards by the ERP system.
  12. Click Save.
