Product eCommerce Details

The eCommerce tab in the product details determines many aspects of the presentation, visibility, availability, and pricing of products in your shop. Take care to enter the details in this tab so that they work together as you intended, and always test before publishing.

  • The Brand of the product must always be filled to display a product in the shop. If the product does not have a particular brand, create and assign a placeholder brand Unbranded (or similar).
  • When you link a PIM Type (or product type) to the product, the product name is automatically generated and standard attributes are set that are taken from the PIM type. In this manner, a name, attributes and translations can be defined for a large number of products at the same time.
  • Optionally, select the Product Variants to make the other variants of the product (for example, if a table is available in 4 different colors which are product variants) as options on the PDP, that the user can switch between. In this manner, all product variants can be found through any of the article numbers. (Another way to define product variants is under PIM > Product Variants > Product variants. The available fields are identical: follow the same procedure as described here.)
  • The Priority determines the order in which products will be shown in a search or on a list page.
  • The Consumer Price is a text field to indicate, for example, a from/for price.
  • The value set for Out of Assortment determines whether the product can be ordered when it is out of stock. It overrules the Allow Backorders check box in the shop's Order Settings.
    • Choose No to allow ordering the product, regardless of whether it is in stock.
    • Choose Yes or Discontinued to never allow ordering the product.
    • Choose Discontinued if no stock to allow ordering the product only up to the amount that is in stock.

Subtab Catalogs

In this subtab, maintain the list of Catalogs in which a product is included.

note

To ensure that the product is visible on the webshop, it must be linked to at least one catalog that is directly linked to the webshop. To see which ones these are:

  • In the CloudSuite App, go to Stores > Shops and open your shop.
  • In the tab Catalogs, check which catalogs are linked to the shop.

Subtab Trees

In this subtab, maintain the list of Product Trees to which the product is linked. A product can be linked to multiple trees in the shop. A tree is only shown on the shop if products are linked.

Subtab Texts

Most texts entered in this subtab can be visible to shop visitors, and can be translated.

  • If Custom slug is checked, you can define your own text that can be used in the URL of the product page. By default, this box is not checked and the URLs are based on the product name. If you check the box, the field Slug becomes editable. This can be translated.
  • You may enter a non-standard, SEO-friendly Title and Meta Description for use by search engines. Both can be translated.
  • Keywords for Search can be entered to guide shop visitors to the product when they use the Search. Note that generic keywords for search that are not directly linked to a particular product can be defined as synonyms.
  • A URL primary Shop can be used to avoid duplicate content.
  • Additional Texts that are defined here are displayed based on the design. Not all Additional Texts are necessarily shown.

Subtab Assets

In this subtab, you can link images or videos to the product. Another way to add an asset to a product is directly under PIM > Product Assets. The available fields are identical: if you use the subtab Assets, follow the same procedure as described here.

Subtab Attributes

Attributes are values and properties can be recorded at item level: for example, height, size or weight. Another way to define product attributes is directly under PIM > Attributes > Attribute Properties. The available fields are identical: if you use the subtab Attributes, follow the same procedure as described here.

Subtab Sets Attributes

Sets of attributes can be defined in this subtab at product level.

Subtab Up/Cross

In this subtab, you can maintain lists of related products to be shown on the PDP. For example, if the main product is a couch, then a Cross Selling Product could be a furniture cleaner and an Up Selling Product could be a more luxurious (and expensive) variant of the sofa.

Product Options

Product options is a more advanced version of cross-selling which allows webshop users to easily buy multiple additional services and/or goods directly related to the main product.

  • The Option Type determines how the product option is used.
    • Choose Goods as part of main product or Goods Cross selling to add a regular product as an option. This is a product that can also be bought separately.
    • Choose Service to add a service product as an option.
  • Select the Option Product from the products that have been defined for your shop.
  • Enter the remaining data in accordance with the Option Type you have set:
    • For either of the goods types, enter the Default Quantity that will be pre-filled on the PDP. The user can modify this as desired. (Note that product options with type goods do not work in combination with real-time or dynamic pricing.)
    • For services, enter the Price and optionally check the box to use the VAT of Main product.

Subtab Tags

In this subtab, maintain the list of Tags to which the product is linked. Linking a product to a tag has the following benefits:

  • Products can be bundled for a specific promotion (for example, Black Friday).
  • The tag can be linked in the CloudSuite Admin, so that all articles from the tag are on one page.
note

You can also add products to a tag starting from the Products tab in the tag details.

Subtab Logistics

In this subtab, you can set various details regarding shipping and delivery, to override or enhance those specified for the shop.

Subtab Extra

This subtab contains B2C options such as packaging options or content and volume of the article. (For example, in Germany, the price for 100 ml of perfume must always be shown).

Many of the fields in this tab can be translated.

Subtab CMS

In this subtab, you can maintain the list of Blogposts that are shown on the PDP. These posts must have been defined in the CloudSuite Admin.
