Units of Measure

Each product can be linked to a Unit of Measure (UOM) which determines the unit by which the product is offered.

To work with units of measure, in the CloudSuite App go to PIM > Units of Measure. An overview appears, listing all UOMs that have already been defined. Double-click an existing UOM to open its details or click New to create a new one.

  • Enter the Name of the UOM. This will be visible to shop visitors, and can be translated.
  • Choose the Category to which the UOM belongs. UOM categories are maintained separately.
  • Enter the Symbol that provides a brief identification for the UOM.
  • If appropriate, enter the ISO Code.
  • The UOM is Active only when the corresponding box is checked. This is the default when creating a new UOM.
  • The Factor is the multiplication coefficient to get from the base unit to 1 of this unit. It is used to calculate, for example, a price per kilogram, using the formula coef(base unit) = 1 of this unit.
  • The Rate is the inverse of the coefficient, used to calculate the value of 1 base unit = coef (this unit).
  • Next to Rounding Precision, enter the rounding factor that is applied when units are converted.
  • The Display Digits determine the number of digits shown after the decimals separator.
