Countries

Multiple countries can be defined in which your shops are active.

To work with countries, in the CloudSuite App go to Other Settings > Countries. An overview appears, listing all countries that have already been defined. Double-click an existing country to open its details or click New to create a new one.

  • The Name of the country is shown to your webshop visitors, and can be translated.
  • The Code of a country is determined by the International Standards Organization (ISO), which provides a lookup table on their Online Browsing Platform. Use the code variant that consists of two letters (Alpha-2 code).
  • If you select a Continent, this can be used in certain calculations (delivery service, discount, etc.).

eCommerce​

  • The Format of street is the pattern in which street addresses are normally constructed.
  • Select the Country settings used for validating a street address, a postal code, a phone number or a VAT number.
  • To validate VAT numbers that your customers provide using the VIES web service (at http://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/vies/vatRequest.html), as the desired VAT validation web-service choose VIES VAT number validation.
  • By checking Region you can avoid that invalid language codes are generated in enterprise domain URLs built for geographic areas that are not recognized countries. This is a complex setup, to be carried out by your CloudSuite consultant.
  • Subdivisions are not used in CloudSuite.
  • The button Update Continents is not used in CloudSuite.

Registration V1​

The following additional country settings can be turned on or off. Note that this tab is all but deprecated. Its settings are now handled by the Address Format in the country formats.

  • If House Number optional is checked, the validation routine will accept addresses with or without a house number.
  • If Zip Code optional is checked, the validation routine will accept addresses with or without a postal code.
  • If Show second Address Field is checked, an additional address line will be included.
  • If Overrule Address Suggestions Web-service is checked, suggestions offered by any address-autocompletion web service that you use, can be edited by the customer.
