Product Without Delivery Costs
You can configure a product so that customers do not pay delivery costs when the product is added to the order. This can be useful for products that do not require physical delivery, such as gift card codes or license keys.
Configuring the Product
In principle, delivery services are configured at shop level and apply to all products and orders. So, to not charge delivery services on a particular product, add a special delivery service to the product to make an exception. This then overrules the shop settings.
- In the CloudSuite App, go to PIM > Products and open the product for which you want to override the delivery service.
- In the product details, go to the Customers tab and click the magnifying glass next to the Delivery Service field. All available delivery services are shown in a pop-up.
- Select a delivery service for free shipping and click OK. If there is no delivery service for free shipping, create one by clicking New in the pop-up. Then fill in the details and click OK to add the free delivery service to the product. Note:
- The Priority of the free delivery service must be lower than that of the standard delivery service of the webshop.
- The free delivery service needs a delivery service Line for Free Shipping.
Configuring a Cost Rule
To make sure that delivery costs are always calculated correctly, even when you have an order containing free shipping products as well as products that do have shipping costs, the last step is to create a cost rule.
- Go to Order Management > Configuration > Cost Rules and click New to create a new cost rule.
- In the cost rule details, enter a Name for the cost rule and choose the Delivery Service you created for free shipping.
- Two more fields appear after selecting a delivery service. Check Compare Shop with Product Delivery Services to ensure that the configured Free Shipping delivery service is calculated only for the products with a product-specific delivery service. The standard delivery service of the shop is automatically active for all other products that have no delivery service configured.
When all the changes are saved, the name of the delivery line should be shown in the basket when the product is added.
A product-specific delivery service can be overwritten by an import or by product updates. In such a situation, add the delivery service to the import files or to the product updates that your ERP sends to CloudSuite.
