Product Configuration

Some key settings can be configured to customize the behavior of multiple functions related to products, interfacing and pricing.

To work with the PIM configuration, in the CloudSuite App go to PIM > Configuration.

Default Values​

The default values apply only within the CloudSuite App and are mainly for easy maintenance.

  • The field Default UOM (unit of measurement) determines the default value for this same field in the product details when a new product is created.
  • The field Salable determines the default value for this same field in the product details when a new product is created.
  • Use Category's Taxes determines if the taxes of a product are defined on the product or the category. In general, taxes will be defined in the category details, but exceptions can be defined in the product details.
  • If Taxes required is checked, taxes must be specified for products and categories.
  • The field Delivery Time determines the default value for this same field in the product details when a new product is created.

Content​

In some countries it is mandatory to publish the price per a base quantity if you sell products by a certain weight or volume, so that the customer can easily compare prices of products with different volumes/weights.

  • UOM Weight of Content determines the UOM of a product for which a ground price by weight is required.
  • The Ground Weight is the base value for which a ground price by weight will be calculated and shown to the shop customer.
  • UOM Volume of Content determines the UOM of a product for which a ground price by volume is required.
  • The Ground Volume is the base value for which a ground price by volume will be calculated and shown to the shop customer.

Settings​

Some additional checks can be carried out when adding or changing product details.

  • If Code required is checked, Code is a mandatory field.
  • If Prices optional is checked, the List price can be left blank.
  • If Show pictures is checked, a thumbnail of the product can be shown on the PDP.
  • You may specify a Picture base path, which is automatically prefixed to image paths in the webshop.
  • The field Default Origin determines the default value for this same field in the product details when a new product is created. (Origins are used to determine the origin of external integration.)

Price list settings​

These settings affect the behavior of the price calculation for products.

  • Check Quantity before start-date in tier pricing to define whether the quantity or the date is leading in the price calculation when there are multiple tiers.
  • Check Round Product Price to round the product price after application of a discount to 2 decimals before calculating the line amount.
  • Check Contract price above Action to make contract prices overrule optional action prices, so that any lower action prices will be ignored.
  • In general, discount percentages can be configured as product or category discount. The product discount will only be applied over the list price, while category discounts will be applied over the list price or the product price list. Check Product Discount over Product Price to make a product discount be applied to a product price list.
  • To prevent misconfiguration of category discounts, you may check Cost price boundary to set the price to the cost price when the net price will be lower.

cXML orders​

  • When orders are synchronized from your ERP system and products are unknown in the CloudSuite platform, next to Default Product Synchronization you can specify a product that will be used as the base of the newly-created unknown product. If you leave this field blank, unknown products will not be accepted.
