Notification Planner

You can plan for notifications (sometimes known as banners) to be shown in specific shops at the top of the page. Notifications can be set to become active at a specified future date.

To work with notifications, in the CloudSuite Admin go to Settings > Notification Planner.

This section is slightly different from others: the overview that lists all notifications that have already been defined, is not immediately shown and also, the screens work a little differently.

Shop overview

When you enter this section, the tab Shop overview is shown. All your shops are listed alphabetically and any notifications that are already linked to each shop are listed. Here you can:

  • directly link an existing notification to a shop by selecting it from the drop-down list;
  • edit the details (see below) of a notification that has already been linked by double-clicking it;
  • temporarily suspend showing the notification for the shop (if it is currently being shown) by clicking Pause;
  • break the link between a shop and a notification by clicking Remove.

All notifications

To see the full overview of all notifications, linked to a shop or not, go to the All notifications tab. Here you can:

  • edit the details (see below) of a notification that has already been defined by double-clicking it (or click it once, then click Edit);
  • create a new notification by clicking Create Notification;
  • delete an existing notification by clicking it, then clicking Delete Permanently. Note that the deletion cannot be undone!

Notification Details

Notifications are set for all languages of your shops separately. Before you continue, make sure you are working in the correct language.

Buttons near the top right of the screen let you Delete the notification or Save your edits. The button How can I preview my banner? displays instructions on how to preview the notification.

The notification details screen is not subdivided into tabs, but it has two sections instead.

Notification Section

  • Use the From and To fields if you want to set a time period during which the notification can be shown.
    • The From date is the first day on which the notification can be shown. Leave this field blank to make the notification available in your shops immediately.
    • The To date is the last day on which the notification can be shown. Leave this field blank to make the notification available indefinitely.
  • The Name of the notification is for internal reference, and will not be shown to shop visitors.
  • The Message field contains the actual text of the notification. Select any number of characters to see a toolbar with styling options, plus an option to include a hyperlink to another page. You can use artificial intelligence (AI) to translate or improve this field.

Settings Section

  • To show an icon next to your message, find the one you want on the Font Awesome website. Make a note of its name, then go back and enter this name in the Icon field. Note that you can use any of the listed icons, including those labelled Pro. Alternatively, you can click the AI button for a suggestion that reflects your message.
  • To give your notification a specific Background color, choose its identifier from the drop-down list. The values in the list come from the design of your website's theme. Alternatively, you can click the AI button for a suggestion that reflects your message.
  • Under User can dismiss the notification, choose whether the user can dismiss the notification and if so, for how long the notification will remain hidden.
  • Under Who can see this notification, choose at which point (before and/or after login) the notification is shown.

Saving and Next Steps

If the notification must be shown in shops using different languages, make sure you enter the appropriate translations: select a different Language near the top of the screen, then fill in the Message field for that language. Do this for every language that you need.

When you click Save to save your edits, you go automatically back to the Shop overview (see earlier). Link the notification to the shops where it must be shown.
