Creating a Page Slug (URL Mapping)
A slug is the part of your page's URL that appears after the domain name, e.g. https://www.sitename.com/this-is-the-slug. This section of the URL is visible in search engine results and plays a crucial role in leading traffic to your page. If the link is clear and easy to understand, more people will find the page. Search engines also use the link to organize and rank pages, so it is important to make sure the slug is easy to understand.
Slugs are automatically generated for all pages using the product name or page title. However, it is common practice to change the default slug to a custom one that better explains what the page is about, using keywords that people might search for. This can be done for many different page types.
You can create slugs in the CloudSuite Admin or in the CloudSuite App. They have the same options and both methods can be used interchangeably.
Creating a Custom Slug in the CloudSuite Admin
- Log in to the CloudSuite Admin.
- Go to URL Routing > Page Slugs and click the Create Mapping button.
- Enter the slug details.
- Save your edits.
Creating a Custom Slug in the CloudSuite App
- Log in to the CloudSuite App.
- Go to Marketing > SEO > URL Mappings and click the New button.
- Enter the slug details.

A new or changed slug definition will not be immediately visible in the webshop. To see your changes in the shop immediately, select Rebuild URL Mappings in the Debug Tools in the CloudSuite App.
