Personalized Recommendations

note

Personalized recommendations are part of the Modified Ranking feature of our Relevance and Recommendations Module. In order to enable this functionality, please contact your consultant or Customer Support.

With personalized recommendations, you can push products in product search and navigation trees for specific customers. A catalog is created for a so-called customer segment: products inside that catalog are placed higher on the page than other products, but only for those customers that are linked to the customer segment.

Customer segments always cause ranked products to be promoted, never demoted in the list of products that are shown. They are applied on searching as well as browsing the catalog. The only situation in which they are not applied is when manually sorting on anything other than "priority "or "relevance".

Personalized recommendations requires a number of configuration steps.

Customer Segments

First, define your customer segments. A customer segment is basically just a label, identifying an industry, customer type, or whatever you want it to mean.

To manage customer segments, in the CloudSuite App go to Search and Navigation > Relevance > Customer Segments.

Catalogs

Then, create a segment catalog containing those products that you want to rank higher in results pages for customers associated with a particular segment.

To manage catalogs, in the CloudSuite App go to PIM > Catalogs.

Customers

Finally, edit the customer details of those customers for whom you want to rank the products in the segment catalog higher.

To manage customers, in the CloudSuite App go to Customers > Customers.
