Creating a Mix Promotion Bundle

With various bundle types, a promotional offer (discount or free product) can be applied to products within a group. For example: 15% discount on all products of a specific brand.

The following actions are required to configure a promotion on a mix of products:

  • Find or create a service product defining the discount.
  • Find or create a tag with products that are part of the bundle.
  • Create a bundle.
  • Optionally, and for some of the bundle types only, make the promotion conditional on the presentation of a coupon.

Service product

A service product is used to show the percentage of the discount in the order. You can use an existing service product or create a new one.

Tag for the promotion bundle

The discount applies when products are placed in the basket that are included in a particular tag. You can use an existing tag or create a new one.

note

For a Buy quantity x in the mix, get discount over other products bundle, another tag is used to define the products that the customer may get at a discount.

The Special Type Tag of the tag must be set to Tag for Bundle Promotions.

Creating the bundle

The bundle, finally, links the service product (promotional offer) to the tag (products), and specifies a number of conditions and prerequisites.

To work with bundles of this type, in the CloudSuite App go to Marketing > Bundles > All Bundles. (You may also select the menu option that directly corresponds to the type of bundle you want to create. The details are the same.) When the editing the bundle details. pay special attention to the following.

  • The Priority applies when there are multiple bundles configured for the same tag. The bundle with the highest priority will then be active. This is useful if you have a discount with tiered pricing.
  • Select the Tag defining the products in the mix.
  • For a Buy quantity x in the mix, get discount over other products bundle, select the Target tag defining the products that the customer may get at a percentage discount.
  • The Product for Discount is the service product to use. If you leave this field blank, the service product set in the bundle configuration will be used.
  • Enter the minimum Quantity of tag products that must be ordered for the promotion to apply. The bundle will be activated when this quantity is reached in the basket.
  • To restrict the number of times that a particular customer can use the bundle, enter a Maximum number of uses. (This field is not available for all bundle types.)
  • When applicable for the mix bundle you are creating, enter the Percentage or Fixed Amount discount on the promotional product(s).
  • To make the discount conditional on the presentation of one or more coupons, select these by clicking the large + icon next to Coupons. (This field is not available for all bundle types.)

Creating action tiers

If you want to increase the discount percentage when a customer orders a higher quantity of a product, create a new bundle for each tier. For example:

  • 20% discount with 2 products
  • 30% discount with 5 products
  • 50% discount with 10 products

The configuration is mostly the same for each tier. In this (simple) example, you only need to change the following:

  • Name: Enter a different name for each tier.
  • Priority: Select a different priority for each tier, so that the lowest percentage has the lowest priority and the highest percentage has the highest priority.
  • Quantity: Enter a different quantity for each tier.
  • Percentage: Enter a different percentage for each tier.
