Creating a Give-Away Product Bundle
With the bundle types Premium Free Product with bought Product and Give away Product within the Order, a free give-away can be added to the basket. The difference is that with the first bundle type, the give-away is dependent on a particular product being ordered, while with the second one it is not.
Another bundle that allows for a give-away product is Buy quantity in the mix, get 1 item for free, which is described in the Recipe Bundles: Mix Promotions.
To work with bundles of this type, in the CloudSuite App go to Marketing > Bundles > All Bundles. (You may also select the menu option that directly corresponds to the type of bundle you want to create. The details are the same.) When the editing the bundle details. pay special attention to the following.
The Type of Discount for a bundle with a free gift must be either:
- Premium Free Product with bought Product when the give-away is dependent on a particular product or combination of products being ordered, or
- Give away Product within the Order when the discount is not dependent on a particular product being ordered (although often, you will set upper and/or lower bounds for the total order amount).
General
- Check Choose Sub Product to allow the customer to choose the gift when multiple gift products have been specified. If this box is not checked, all gift products will be added to the order for free. (For a Give away Product within the Order bundle, this option only works when it is implemented in the front-end code of the shop. If the selection menu does not show up in the basket, please contact your consultant or Customer Support.)
- For a Give away Product within the Order bundle, the Minimum amount and Maximum amount fields let you set a lower and/or upper limit for the total order amount to which the bundle applies.
- Check Select Products by Tag to limit the give-away to baskets containing specified products only. One or two fields appear if you check this box:
- Select the Tag defining the products that qualify a customer for the give-away.
- For a Give away Product within the Order bundle, you may check Buy quantity in the mix allows you to specify that the bundle is activated only when a certain Quantity is ordered from the products in the tag. When you check this field, a field for you to specify the quantity appears, and the earlier fields for minimum and maximum amounts disappear.
- To make the free gift conditional on the presentation of one or more coupons, select these by clicking the large + icon next to Coupons.
On saving the bundle, one or two sections are added to the General tab where you can specify the Sub Products (gift products) and (for Premium Free Product with bought Product bundles where the products are not selected by a tag) the Main Products that activate the free give-away offer when a customer adds them to the basket.
You can work with the sub-products and where applicable main products one by one using the various toolbar icons, or you can use the Import Main Products/Import Sub Products buttons to import products from a file. Such a file needs to have two columns, separated by a comma, where the first column has the header product code and the second has the header quantity.
