Excluding Products for Certain Customers
By default, a customer sees the catalogs defined in the shop details (Stores > Shops, then open the shop and go to the Catalogs tab). If you want to exclude certain products in a catalog for certain customers, you have the following options:
- Create a catalog with the products that the customer should not see in the webshop and mark the catalog as Exclude. Effectively, you create a catalog of products that are excluded for customers to which it is linked (while all other products are visible).
- Create a catalog with only the items that the customer should see in the webshop. Effectively, you create a catalog of products that are included for particular customers to which it is linked (while no other products are visible).
Option 1: Creating a Catalog of Excluded Products
- In the CloudSuite App, go to PIM > Catalogs and click New to create a new catalog.
- In the catalog details, give the new catalog a Name and choose the **Type of catalog.
- Go to the General tab and check Exclude.
- Go to the Products tab and add the products that should not be shown to the customers who are linked to this catalog.
- Depending on who you want to exclude the products for, go to the Shops tab, the Users tab, the Groups tab, the Parties tab and/or the Exclusive Parties tab and indicate to whom this catalog of excluded products applies. If you link the exclude catalog to an exclusive party, its products are by definition no longer excluded for all other parties!
Option 2: Creating a Catalog of Included Products
- In the CloudSuite App, go to PIM > Catalogs and click New to create a new catalog.
- In the catalog details, give the new catalog a Name and choose the **Type of catalog.
- Go to the Products tab and add the products that should be shown to the customers who are linked to this catalog.
- Depending on who you want to include the products for, go to the Shops tab, the Users tab, the Groups tab, the Parties tab and/or the Exclusive Parties tab and indicate to whom this catalog of included products applies. If you link the catalog to an exclusive party, its products are by definition no longer visible to all other parties!
note
Instead of linking a catalog to a shop (or user, or party group, or party) using the corresponding tabs in the catalog details, you can choose to open the shop (or user, or group, or customer) details and link to the catalog in the Catalogs tab.
