Enable Apple Pay — Mollie

You can offer Apple Pay to your customers if you use Mollie as your payment provider. Before you can activate Apple Pay in CloudSuite, you need to complete some steps in your Mollie account.

This is one of the provider-specific guides for enabling Apple Pay. See Enable Apple Pay (link to follow) for the prerequisites and an overview.

Step 1: Enable Apple Pay in Mollie

Apple Pay can only be activated after credit card payments are active in your Mollie account, because Apple Pay uses the credit card network.

1. Log in to the Mollie Dashboard.
2. Click your organisation name in the top left.
3. Go to Settings > Payment methods.
4. Check that Credit card is active. If it is not, enable it first. Note that Mollie may need to review your account before credit card payments are approved.
5. Find Apple Pay in the list and enable it.

Step 2: Add the Domain Association Value to CloudSuite

Apple Pay requires Apple to verify that your webshop domain is registered with Mollie. CloudSuite handles this automatically by serving a domain association value at a fixed location on your domain. You need to add this value to your Mollie payment configuration once.

1. In the CloudSuite App, go to Stores > Payment Services > Payment Configurations.
2. Open your Mollie payment configuration.
3. In the Configuration field, add the apple_pay_domain_association key with the value below:

To confirm that CloudSuite is serving the value correctly, open a browser and go to:

The page should display the domain association content. If you see a 404 error, see the Troubleshooting section below.

Step 3 – Create the Apple Pay payment method

1. In the CloudSuite App, go to Stores > Payment Services > Payment Methods.
2. Click New.
3. Fill in the following fields:
   • Name: Apple Pay
   • Service: Mollie
   • Code: applepay
   • Identifier: applepay.
4. Click Save.
5. Go to the Provider tab.
6. Link the payment method to your Mollie payment configuration.
7. Click Save.

Step 4: Test Apple Pay

Before you go live, test Apple Pay using your Mollie test API key.

1. In your Mollie payment configuration, set the API Key to your test key. Test API keys start with test_.
2. Place a test order in your webshop on an Apple device and complete the payment with Apple Pay.
3. Once Apple Pay works correctly, switch the API Key back to your live key. Live API keys start with live_.

Troubleshooting

The Domain Association Value Returns a 404 Error

• Check that the apple_pay_domain_association key is present in your Mollie payment configuration and that the full value has been pasted correctly.
• Check that your Mollie payment configuration is saved.
• Check that the domain in the URL matches the domain of your webshop.

Apple Pay Does Not Appear at Checkout

• Check that the customer is using an Apple device. Apple Pay is only shown to customers on Apple devices.
• Check that the Apple Pay payment method is active in the CloudSuite App.
• Check that the Apple Pay payment method is linked to your Mollie payment configuration in the Provider tab.
• Check that the order amount is within the Minimum amount and Maximum amount limits set on the payment method.
• If you are testing, check that the API Key in your Mollie payment configuration starts with test_.
