Payment Methods

A payment method is a way by which a webshop user pays for an order.

To work with payment methods, in the CloudSuite App go to Stores > Payment Services > Payment Methods. An overview appears, listing all payment methods that have already been defined. Double-click an existing method to open its details or click New to create a new one.

  • Enter the Name of the payment method. This will be visible to shop visitors, and can be translated.
  • The payment method is Active only when the corresponding box is checked. This is the default when creating a new payment method.
  • Choose the Service provider of the payment method.
  • If the payment method supports direct transfer to the payment environment, you may check Direct Payment. (Currently, this is possible for iDEAL, Direct Debit, PayPal, Recurring and BankTransfer.)
  • The Description is an additional text which is displayed in the shop. This will be visible to shop visitors, and can be translated.
  • The Identifier is an abbreviation for the payment method that can be used to retrieve an image.
  • For correct handling of the payment method, enter the appropriate Code (contact Consultancy to know what the code must be).
  • The Minimum amount and Maximum amount that an order must have for the payment method to apply includes VAT, discounts, surcharges etc.
  • Often, a further choice must be made by the webshop customer when using the payment method. For example, the customer may have to specify their bank or credit card company. Specify the available additional choices under Subdivisions.
  • If no countries are specified under Allowed Countries, the payment method can be used in all shops. Specify one or more countries to limit the payment method to those countries.
  • If no payment terms are specified under Allowed Payment Terms, the payment method can be used with all (party) payment terms. Specify one or more payment terms to limit the payment method to those terms.
  • If you make a selection next to Payment Term, the selected payment term takes precedence over any payment terms set for the party and the sale.
  • By default, the payment method is always Visible. If it must be visible (and therefore available) only under a specific condition, choose this from the drop-down list:
    • Just for Pre-Orders
    • Not for Pre-Orders
    • Delivery equal to Invoice Address (= only when the delivery address is the same as the invoice address)
  • CloudSuite will have set up a Base Configuration for the payment method, depending on the requirements of the payment provider. This can be overruled by entering an Overrule configuration.
