Synonyms

Based on keyword searches, you can extend search results and lead visitors to relevant products, blog posts, or custom content. You can influence the search results by creating rules in which you link related keywords, called synonyms.

For example, a synonym defined as cell phone, mobile phone, smartphone, mobile = gsm will cause searching for any of these terms to give the same search results as if the user had searched for gsm.

The synonyms are used to train and improve the internal search engine. With this feature, the chance for success on a search query is much bigger, which has a positive impact on the visitors' shopping experience and on conversion.

By monitoring keyword searches without results, you can add synonyms to lead visitors to the desired page in your shop. It is the perfect tool to act on and improve “no results” keyword searches.
