Price Lists
For a more sophisticated pricing structure, CloudSuite offers various types of price list.
A price list can contain multiple lists with products and categories. Products can contain prices or percentages. Categories can just contain percentages. For each list, a start and end date are available, so future prices can be stored as well.
To support multiple features of ERP systems, CloudSuite offers some functional parameters to influence the behavior of the price calculation:
- While searching for tier prices the system can optionally give higher priority to quantity instead of start-date of the contract.
- In the case of percentages, calculate the price per product or per line amount to prevent rounding differences with the ERP system.
- Give priority to contract price lists over promotional prices.
- In case of percentages, never calculate a price below the cost price.
In case of a product price or percentage, the choice can be made to search for an additional category discount.
In the case of percentages (discount or surcharge), it is possible to define the base for the percentage. This can be gross price, cost price, or purchase price.
Price lists, per entity, have the possibility to use tier-quantities. This distinguishes the lists of gross prices and price sheets.
- Step 1: of the price calculation is to look for a product price based on the hierarchy shown below. If a price is available in an action price list, this price is leading if not, check the contract price list, etc.
- Step 2: is to look for optional (available) discounts. This means that a price can be the result of multiple price types: for example, a customer price with an additional group category discount/surcharge.
Price List Hierarchy
The hierarchy for price calculation CloudSuite uses is:
- Promotional (action) price list
- Contract price list
- Customer price lists
- Group price lists
- Price sheets
- Gross price lists
Sale Price vs. Cost Price
In case of category discounts and tiers, you can ensure that the sale price will never be lower than the cost price: for example, in a situation where some products within a category have a low margin and the tier discount is significant.
Each shop can have its own group price list. Per customer, you can link multiple contract, customer and group price lists. When the customer has one or more specific group price lists, these will overrule the standard price list of the shop.
Promotional (Action) Price List
Promotional price lists are a special type of price list, which apply to a list of products. You can choose to always show the promotional price or only when the promotional price is lower than the calculated price. A promotional price cannot have additional discounts but is always a net price.
