Order Cost and Discount Calculations

Order Cost Configuration​

CloudSuite has capabilities to calculate additional costs or discounts, which are based on the total amount of the order. For example, shipping costs or order discounts.

Order Costs are configured based on the Order Type (also called Sale Type in CloudSuite) of the shop settings. Besides the general shop settings, Order Costs can also be configured to be customer-specific.

Practices and Advanced Features​

The following practices and advanced features of order cost configurations are available:

  • Provide free shipping based on a minimum and maximum order value.
  • Additional costs for specific payment methods; for example, a small surcharge for credit card payments.
  • Discounts (percentage of amount or fixed amount).
    • An order discount percentage can be calculated based on the net or gross product prices (for example, to prevent a discount-over-discount situation)
    • It is possible to exclude specific products from discount calculations. This can also be used to prevent a discount-over-discount situation.
  • It is possible to make an exception for Order Cost calculations based on products within the order. This makes it possible to make an exception on shipping costs; for instance, to calculate different shipping costs for larger products.
  • You can link a Payment Method to a cost rule. In that case, the cost rule is applied when this payment method is selected; for instance, a small surcharge for using a credit card or afterpay options.

Order Cost Rules and Delivery Options​

Order Cost rules can also be linked to delivery options, which makes it possible to give the webshop customer the possibility to choose between different options.

The delivery options can have multiple lines with service products which will be displayed based on the following selection:

  • Continent, country, and province
  • Postal codes
  • Minimum and maximum order value, weight and volume.

All lines within this selection will be displayed in the basket, and the customer can select one of the lines.

With the delivery option, the following features are possible:

  • Express delivery
  • Select a pick-up point
  • Select a pick-up point from external carriers
  • Select a shop outlet or store
  • Use a packing station
