Prices incl. and excl. VAT (B2C — B2B)
To support webshops that serve both B2C and B2B customers, CloudSuite offers the option to display prices excluding VAT or including VAT, depending on the tax rule linked to a customer and the tax behavior setting for the shop.
Display Prices excluding VAT
This is the default option for B2B shops. It is possible to add a toggle function in the shop to switch between prices including and excluding VAT (requires some HTML coding).
Display Prices including VAT, regardless of Tax Rules
All prices in the shop are displayed including VAT; also for B2B customers with a Tax Rule. If the linked Tax Rule ensures that no VAT is charged (in case of an intra-community delivery), then all prices for that session are displayed excluding VAT.
Display Prices including VAT, except for Tax Rules
All prices in the shop are displayed including VAT; except to B2B customers with a Tax Rule (only after login). This feature allows displaying B2B prices (excl. VAT) within a B2C shop.
It is possible to show prices excluding VAT to local B2B customers on the product list page (PLP) and product detail page (PDP) with additional configuration. In that case, VAT and tax are included during checkout.
Use Pricelists including VAT & only Tax Calculation on order Total
For pure B2C webshops servicing multiple countries, prices including VAT can be shared over multiple shops (or countries) using different local tax rates.
In the basket you then need to show the total VAT amount; however, displaying the VAT per product is not required. The VAT amount is available in the shopping basket, checkout, order overview, and in the order confirmation email template.
Each country has a threshold for applying local or country-specific VAT. When the total order amount goes over the threshold, VAT is paid in the country of delivery. When the threshold has been exceeded, the prices do not change: only the VAT changes.
