Product Variants
Product variants can greatly enhance the user experience of your webshop by simplifying navigation and consolidating multiple options.
With CloudSuite, you have the flexibility to incorporate as many variants as necessary while also benefiting from a range of features designed to optimize product search, filtering, and display. These capabilities are particularly useful for industries where customers may be looking for specific styles or attributes, such as fashion and furniture.
Product variants allow you to determine how many variations of an individual product are available. For example, if a product such as a T-shirt is available in five different sizes and four different colors, there are 20 variations of the same product. These 20 products all have inventory and sales records, managed using product variants.
CloudSuite supports as many variants as you need and provides various web shop features to improve the user experience regarding search, filtering, and displaying products and their variants. These features support different use cases.
With our standard variant feature, you have all the tools to configure variants based on attributes and to link the available products to a variant. For more advanced configuration options, we recommend our Configurator module.
Presenting Variants on the PDP
When setting up your webshop, it is important to consider how you want to present product variants. One option is to display all available colors and sizes in search results, while another is to show only one color variant with additional options listed below.
- On the product page (PDP), customers can filter or switch between available variants by selecting attributes like size or color.
- For B2B fashion sites, an Order Matrix presentation for all available variants based on two attributes - such as color and size - can be a useful feature.
Presenting Variants in the Search results
- Next to each other, product variants have varying ranks. They can be displayed next to each other based on ranking for easy comparison.
- A single variant of the product
- A single variant of the product with a unique attribute
- Additional labels: “Available in multiple variants“
Optional search behavior includes:
- show all products when filtering
- show all products when searching
